110% at 28 Day Countdown

The all-team funraiser raffle and silent auction tonight at 5 Seasons Brewery was a lot of fun and a huge success! The final tally will be in later this week.

Sunny, 70 degree weather was on tap for probably 200 folks who came out after an Atlanta weekend weary of park festivals on the tail of Sidewalk Arts in Piedmont, and some beer guzzle over in Candler Park.

With checks in the mail, this effort is now at 110%. Thank you for the continued support. I just don't know what else to say. So, thank you again. $5000 is now within reach for this cause with 28 days to go. Team members' final fundraising will be due May 10 I think.

$5000 would be 5 million cancer cells dead forever and their kin finding it harder and harder to get back up. That's what I want. That's what we all want. We'll get there some day, $1 at a time.

For now, off to bed at 9:45p. 10k run in the morning out to East Point and back along lovely, deserted, dusty, haunted, post industrial-era, Central Ave... This stretch is a great place to run at 6am though. Not a soul or car out there. The boarded up "for rent signs", yeah right, and abandoned motels from the late 60's, and one belching factory of some sort partially lit with what appears to be 100's of incandescant bulbs strung along wires that seem unconnected to anything, paint quite a contrast to the ultra-modernity of the world's busiest airport just 1/2 mile away.

The two zones are linked by asphalt, and 60 years of progress in two completely different directions.

Next, work 8 hours or so.

Then, off to swim at Dynamo tomorrow night for one of our last groups sessions before May 15.

Rose City Run 10K in Thomasville, this Saturday, 8am! Hoping to finish in under 48 minutes.
